Mary Jane Phelps, age 92, went to be with her Lord March 5, 2013. She was born January 5, 1921 to the late Elmer F. and Myrtle Mayfield Sears.
She was married to Gilmore Phelps on February 14, 1940 and he preceded her in death on July 1, 1987.
She was a faithful and supporting member of Calvary Baptist Church until her health declined. She loved the Lord, people, reading and especially her flowers in her yard.
Survivors include; a sister, Nellie (and Elmer) Blevins; three sisters-in-law, Faye Sears, Beulah Sears and Doris Sears; two brothers-in-law, Charles Bullock and Omer Snell; two special nieces Betty (and Estel) Erp, Sondra (and David) Price; one special nephew, Gene Blevins and several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters Nadine Sears, Christine Hodge, Ella Mize, Raynette Bullock, Elizabeth Snell, Beulah Wilkerson, and brothers Goebel Sears, A.J. Sears, Ben Sears, E.F. Sears Jr. and nieces Doris Johnson and Wilretha Cox and nephew Mitch Blevins.
We appreciate the great care and compassion she had from Sharon Reynolds and Staff at The Neighborhood Assisted Living, the staff at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital and the Hospice Unit and other caregivers who have been assisting with Mary Jane.
The funeral services honoring the life of Mary Jane Phelps will be Monday, March 11, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time for the funeral at Pulaski Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy of sympathy should take the form of contributions to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, or the Charity of ones choice.
