Mrs. Ruth Wright, of Mt. Victory, Kentucky, daughter of the late John Henry and Mary Willie Wilson Hodge, was born at Canmer in Hart County, Kentucky on December 26, 1939 and she departed this life in the presence of her family on Sunday, February 24, 2013 in Somerset, Kentucky, having attained the age of 73 years.
On September 19, 1964 in Somerset, Kentucky, she was united in marriage to Mr. Verne Wright. He survives. Other survivors include two children, Mark Edward (and Candy) Wright of Somerset, Kentucky and Dianne Lynn Wright of Mt. Victory, Kentucky., one grandchild, Tonya Means of Stanford, Kentucky, one aunt, Ruth Ramsey of Nashville, Tennessee, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and other family members, and friends who mourn her passing.
Ruth was a charter member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church, a former correspondent for the community news section of the Observer newspaper, and a pianist who not only taught piano for many years, but, she often played at many events in the community. She was a graduate of Memorial High School in Hart County, Kentucky, and attended Campbellsville University. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Hart County, KY. Ruth enjoyed word search puzzles and she also always enjoyed being around family and friends, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 28, 2013 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Merkel and Rev. Stanley Sears. Burial will follow in the Goodwater Cemetery.
