Elva Mae Smith, age 81, of Drewersburg, Indiana went to be with her Lord on Saturday evening, February 9, 2013. She was born on July 26, 1931 in Somerset, Kentucky the daughter of Charles and Beulah (Colyer) Hunt.
She was educated in the Pulaski County Schools and on November 26, 1947 in Pulaski County, Kentucky, she married Arlee Smith. Elva and Arlee owned and operated SpringLakes, a fishing pay lake. She also worked as a waitress at Shady Nook Restaurant in Millville.
She is survived by her husband, Arlee Smith; one daughter, Virginia (Danny) Abner; three grandchildren, Kelley (Eric) Mills, Anna (Gary) Wessling, and Ginia (Jeff) Riegert; seven grandchildren, Megan Mills, Abigail Mills, Whitley Mills, Jakob Tipton, Ashley Riegert, Abby Riegert, and Gwen Wessling; two sisters, Lou (Gerald) Wilson and Ella Bee (Bob) Hedge; and many other loving relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Stanford and four brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be held at Charles C. Young Funeral Home, 4032 Hamilton Cleves Road, Ross, OH on Tuesday, February 12, 2013, from 5 – 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with burial following in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Indiana. www.charlesyoungfuneralhome.com
