Eva Mae Ping

May 19, 1921 — February 18, 2008

Eva Mae Ping, daughter of the late Presley and Samantha Evelyn Alexander Stewart, was born in Somerset, KY on May 19, 1921 and she departed this life on Monday, February 18, 2008 having attained the age of 86 years. She was united in marriage to Mr. Dewey Ping on May 25, 1968 in Jellico, TN, he preceded her in death. Survivors include; one son, Morris ( and Eva Paulette) Murphy of Somerset, KY; four grandchildren, Morris D. (and Laura) Murphy, Dana (and Derrick) Nevels, Debbie (and Ronald) Brison and Martie (and Patty) Murphy; four great grandchildren, Chris Hart, Dustin Hart, Betty Lynn Murphy, and Brian Nevels; Step-great grandchildren, Ronald Brison, Matthew Brison and Stephanie Brison; two great great grandchildren, Nathan Hart and Christian Hart; one brother, Murrell (and Pauline) Stewart; and one sister, Edna Miller. Other than her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, William Harrison Murphy; two children, Harlen Wayne and Houston Wade Murphy; four sisters, Alma Mounce, Sarah Hargis, Maxine Miller and Hazel Holt and one brother, Ferrell Stewart. When she was active and working, Eva worked at the Colonial Nursing Home in Somerset, KY, she was a member of the Colo Baptist Church, but last attended the Sulpher Springs Community Church. She was a fine Christian lady who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She leaves a host of other relatives and friends who mourn her passing. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 21, 2008 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Flynn and Bro. Dallas Burton officiating. Burial will follow in the Mill Springs National Cemetery at Nancy, KY. The family of Mrs. Eva Mae Ping will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home after 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2008. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of all funeral arrangements for Mrs. Eva Mae Ping.
