James P. Jones

James P. “Jim” Jones of the Cabin Hollow community passed away on February 18, 2008, in Lebanon, Ky. following an extended illness. He was born in the Cabin Hollow Community on November 18, 1919 and lived there most of his life. Jim was the son of the late Beulah and Parker Jones. In 1940 he married, Elizabeth Colyer Jones, she preceded him in death in 2004. During his life, Jim farmed and was a Pulaski County magistrate. He graduated from Ferguson High School and attended the University Of Kentucky, he was a member of the Pitman Creek Baptist Church, where he once served as a Deacon. Mr. Jones is survived by Three Daughters; Lida and (Buford) Smith of Burkesville Ky., Evelyn and (David) Givens of Greensburg KY. , Anne and (George) Brinson of Summersville Ky. Also surviving are grand children, David and (Lynne) Givens, Dan and (Sherri) Givens, Julie Howell, Kristi and (Junior) Janes, Jim and (Amy) Smith, John and (Sara) Cox and Mike and (Lisa) Cox. “Papa Jones” also had Great Grandchildren; Beth, Will, Lee, John, Hannah, Matthew, Michael, Taylor Elizabeth, Allie, Shelby, Emma, Brennen, and Mallory. Along with his parents and wife, Jim is preceded in death by his brother J.B. Jones. The Family wishes to thank the community for the love and prayers they have had on Jim’s behalf, they request that expressions of sympathy go to Pitman Creek Baptist Church. Fuernal services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 21, 2008 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Eggers and Rev. Mike Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the Pitman Creek Cemetery. The family of Mr. Jim Jones will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 21, 2008. Pulaski Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
