Gilbert Daniel “Danny” Grubbs, age 48, of 7461 West Hwy. 80, Nancy, Kentucky, passed away at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital on February 12, 2008 following a short illness. Danny was born in Lawrenceburg, KY on February 25, 1959 to the late Gilbert and Bertha Sea Grubbs. He became a foster son of the late Arleigh and Winnie Tarter in June of 1973 and he has resided with the Tarters since that date. Danny is survived by two foster sisters, Patricia Ann Tarter and Carol Tarter Butcher, both of Nancy, who loved and cared for Danny since the death of his foster parents. Also surviving is a foster nephew, Patrick (and Jessica) Butcher and their children, Kobe, Kaelyn and Kyndal, of Rose Hill, Virginia. Danny is also survived by five sisters, Mary (and Samuel) Riley of Springfield. KY, Deborah Richardson of Bardstown, KY, Marcella Boblitt of Lawrenceburg, KY, Carolyn Netherly of Louisville, KY, Kathleen Rucker of Lawrenceburg and one brother, David (and Lucille) of Lexington, KY and 19 nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews.. Danny was preceded in death by his parents, his foster parents and a sister, Martha Boblitt. Danny attended Duke Memorial Baptist Church where he dearly loved his Sunday School Class, his teacher/pastor, “Preacher Morris” and his “buddies”. Danny was an early resident of Oakwood Training Facility where he was well known for his sweet personality and charming ways. He was featured in a documentary on First Tuesday on CBS TV in the early 1970’s and has been featured in a special Mother’s Day article along with his foster mother in the local newspaper. Funeral services for Danny Grubbs will be held on Friday, February 15, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. David Morris and Rev. Patrick Butcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Tarter Cemetery at Nancy, KY. The family of Danny Grubbs will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home after 5:00 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2008. In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to The Gideon Memorial Bible Fund, P. O. Box 540, Somerset, KY 42502 Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be asked to take charge of all funeral arrangements of Mr. Gilbert Daniel “Danny” Grubbs.
