Kenneth Jay Eaton

Kenneth Jay Eaton of Shopville, KY, went to his home in Heaven on December 27,2012. He was born at Flat Lick , KY on October 12 1926. He was the son of the late Fred and Nannie (Mize) Eaton, He retired after 28 years of service with Hinkle Contracting Corp. Through his Christian walk with the Lord, Kenneth has served in church positions as deacon, song leader and Sunday School Superintendent. His last ministry, which he faithfully did for the last 12 years, was nursing home visitations with songs and prayers. Kenneth was a current member of Eagle Heights Baptist Church. Kenneth was blessed with 18 wonderful years of retirement, caring for his family, farm, cattle, horses and pets. Kenneth loved to sing and could often be heard on his farm tractors singing and loving the outdoors. Kenneth married Wilda (Harris) Eaton on August 26, 1949 and she survives. Along with is wife, he is survived by two sons, Kenny (and Connie) Eaton of Science Hill, KY and Tim (and Shelia) Eaton of Somerset, KY; four grandchildren, Matthew Eaton of Pikeville, KY, Brittany (and Dustin) Moore of London, KY, Kelly (and Eric) Burton of Somerset, KY and Brian Eaton of Somerset, KY; and one sister-in-law, Geraldine Eaton and several nieces and nephews. Kenneth was anxiously awaiting the arrival of his first great granddaughter, Willa Kate Burton in May of 2013. Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, Fred Eaton and mother, Nannie (Mize) Eaton; sisters, Alma (and Lloyd) Randall, Verna (and Paul) Phelps, Marie (and Pretsel) Randolph, Telvis (and Bishop) Inabnitt, Lula Eaton and Irene Eaton (infant); brothers Bill (and Norma) Eaton and Delno Eaton. Visitation will be observed from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the Pulaski Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2012 with Bill Miller and David Bullock officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnesburg Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions for upkeep of the Dyer Cemetery, Barnesburg Cemetery or a charity of your choice. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of all arrangements for Mr. Kenneth Jay Eaton.
