Mr. Clarence E. Poynter of Somerset, Kentucky, was born on July 29, 1917 and departed this life on Saturday, February 02, 2008 having attained the age of 90 years. He is son of the late Luther and Laura Colyer Poynter.
He was united in marriage to Francis Aliene Vaught on January 31, 1942, she survives.
Other survivors include one son, Donald C, (and Patty) Poynter of Berea, Ky, one daughter, Sandy (and Bob) Smith of Somerset, Ky, one brother Noah (and Roberta) Poynter of Somerset, Ky, one sister Etta Howard and her husband Lester who is deceased, also preceding him in death is a sister Cella (and Reuben) Smithern. Mr. Poynter has two grandchildren Joey Poynter of Berea , Ky, and Robyn (and Steven) Kuhn of Knoxville, Tn. He has a beautiful great grand-daughter Juliana Grace Kuhn.
Mr. Poynter was a retired Farmer and was a 60 year song leader and Deacon at the Eden Baptist Church. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and a proud recipient of the Purple Heart.
Mr. Poynter was a kind and loving person who will greatly be missed by all who knew him, he leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn his passing.
Funeral Services will be held on February 4, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev Jack Stallsworth officiating. Burial will be in Eden Cemetery
The family will receive friends on Sunday February 3, 2008 from 5-8 P.M. at Pulaski Funeral Home.
