Mrs. Virginia Audra McClendon Farley

Virginia Audra McClendon Farley, daughter of the late Buford Shull and Lavona Audra McClendon, was born in Pulaski County, KY on March 14, 1927 and she departed this life on October 31, 2012 having attained the age of 85 years. She was first united in marriage to Mr. Lloyd Hines, he preceded her in death. She was later united in marriage to Mr. David Farley, he also preceded her in death. Survivors include; one brother, Doyle D. McClendon and his wife Minnie of Somerset, KY; one sister-in-law, Helen McClendon and a host of nephews, nieces and other family members. Other than her parents and husbands, she was also preceded in death by; four brothers, Dewey, McClendon, Hughie McClendon, Dewel “Dud” McClendon, and Dorwin McClendon, and one sister, Winnie Burton. Virginia was a registered nurse and worked for Good Samaritan Hospital for more than 40 years, and she later worked for many years with Russell County Home Health before officially retiring. She was a member of the Piney Grove Baptist Church #2 and attended regularly as long as her health would permit. She was a kind and gracious lady who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Joseph Warren officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens. The family of Mrs. Virginia Audra McClendon Farley will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 2, 2012.
