Anna Ethel Hardwick Johnson 95, died Monday,Dec. 24th, 2007 at Welcome Home nursing home, Oberlin, Ohio,following a brief illness. Anna was born in Quinton, Ky., June 4 th 1912 to John Harrison Hardwick and Mary [Brashfield] Hardwick.
Anna lived in Amherst,Ohio where she ran a boarding house for employees of the Cleveland Quarries until 1966 . She and her late husband ,Charles Martin Johnson retired to their farm in Quinton Ky.Anna always enjoyed her grandchildrens visits,her farm life, gardening, quilting, sewing and cooking.Anna was a wonderful neighbor to the Cumberland Lake residents and visitors. She always had a warm meal and encouraging words to her neighbors in need.
Anna was a member of the Piney Grove Baptist Church,Echo Point Road, Bronston Ky.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Martin Johnson, July 18,1993, also by brothers Charlie, William, Vince, George, Johnny,and Lonnie Hardwick, sisters,Tempe Jones, Emma Jane Nevels, and Edna Gibson.
She is survived by her daughter, Nevada Flynn of Amherst, Ohio, and her son, Howard Johnson of Ola, Arkansas. Anna has 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren,and 7 great-great grandchildren,,and many nieces and nephews.
We will all miss her,she was very much loved by all.
Visitation will be prior to the services at the Echo Point Road, Piney Grove Church on Saturday Dec. 29th 2007 at 9:30 am. Anna will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Charlie, in the Hollars Cemetery, Quinton Ky.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2007 at the Church
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Piney Grove Baptist Church, Echo Point Road, Bronston, KY 42518.
