Mrs. Imogene Burkett

Margie Imogene "Gene" Burkett, a loving mother, sister and grandmother, passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2007, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She was 81. She was retired from the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She was born on July 31, 1926, to the late Henry and Lillie Burkett. She is survived by her two daughters; Joanne Dykes and her husband, Ron of Cincinnati, OH. and Donna Girdler and her husband, Chuck of Somerset, KY, her granddaughters; Sherry Heger and her husband, Jeff of Morrow, OH and her grandson, Jerry Burkett, Jr. of Somerset, KY; three great-grandchildren, Samantha and Lexi Heger and Tessa Burkett and and special nieces and nephews, Kim and Ron Roy, Erica and Jeremy Anderson, Audrey Reese Anderson and several other nieces and nephews that she loved. She is also survived by four brothers, Eyvind, William, Jerry and Jimmy (Patsy) Burkett; two sisters, Onieda Whitaker and Irene Boyer, and a brother-in-law, Wilson Mink. Preceding her in death were two sisters, Alodine Bland and Genece Mink, and two brother-in-laws, Don Whitaker and Delrue Bland. The family will recieve friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 26, 2007 from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2007 at the Pulaski Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Don Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens. In Lieu of flowers, it is requested contributions take the form of donations to the Pulaski County Humane Society of Somerset, KY.
