Mrs. Edith Whitaker

Edith Whitaker the daughter of the late Margaret Inabnitt Phelps Vanhook and John Phelps was born in Whitstone KY on October 8, 1924 and departed this life on December 17,2007 in Danville Ky. Having attained the age of 83 years. She was an employe of the Pulaski County public library and a member of Buena Vista Baptist Church. She was married to Mr. Robert A Whitaker who preceded her in death. Surviors include three sons; Robert Troxtle and his companion Carol Feck, William and Emma Jo Whitaker, Dennis and Freda Whitaker, two daughters; Rita and Joey Bray, Sandee and Larry Howard. thirteen grand childern ; Eddie Troxtle, Kim Flynn, Shannon Whitaker, Teresa Weems, Josh Whitaker, Erica Tolson, Danny Bray, Amie Wilson, Brandon Bray, Kyra Burnett, Kristin Burnett, Kaleena Burnett, Kia Howard, fifteen great grand children; Robert and Jacob Troxtle, Haley and Emily Flynn, Payton Whitaker, Lindsay Tolson, Alex Bray, Nathaniel and Camron Bray, Aniya and Ethan Naughton and Alex Vice, Almeda and Joseph Weems, and Alysia Malacote, two sisters June Watcher, Betty Jane and one brother Joe Vanhook. Edith was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one grand son Robby Troxtle, four sisters Gerry Finny, Ann Hornsby, Freda Bradley and Stella Jewell, and her beloved dog Max . Edith was a retired employee of the Pulaski County Public Library and she was a member of the Buenia Vista Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 20, 2007 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Clyde Strunk officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens. The family of Mrs. Edith Whitaker will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2007.
