Mrs. Joanne M. Rogers, daughter of the late B. A. and Frances Lester Franklin, was born in Somerset, Kentucky on September 27, 1930 and she departed this life on Saturday, October 13, 2012 having attained the age of 82 years.
On October 28, 1950 she was united in marriage to Mr. Perill Rogers in Somerset, KY. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include, one son, Mr. Michael R. Rogers of Somerset, KY; one daughter, Beverly (and Gordon) Stringer of Somerset, KY; two grandchildren, Shay and Cara Stringer; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Franklin and Susan Franklin several nephews and nieces and a very special friend; Margie Lovins.
Other than her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Mr. Arnold Franklin, and Mr. Richard Franklin.
Joanne was a member of the Ferguson United Methodist Church where she was very active until her health declined, her church was very dear to her. She enjoyed various hobbies including but not limited to; quilting, gardening, reading, and baking bread. She also enjoyed fishing with Iva Dean Ridner, until Iva Dean was called home to be with the Lord.
Joanne worked for many years as a seamstress at Palm Beach Manufacturing. She was a kind lady who will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Parton officiating. Burial will follow in the Wesley’s Chapel Cemetery.
The family of Mrs. Joanne Rogers will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home form 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2012.
