Edith B. Gossett, 88, of Somerset, Kentucky departed this life on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital .
She was born in the Trimble Community on May 17, 1924, daughter of the late James L. and Alta Merrick Beshears. She was united in marriage to Bert C. Gossett on February 24, 1945 in Jamestown, Kentucky, who departed this life on March 9, 2002. Two children blessed this union; one daughter, Linda (and Harold) Hail of Somerset, Kentucky, and one son, Larry (and Linda) Gossett of Dayton, Ohio. Also surviving are three grandchildren; Greg Anderson of Somerset, Kentucky, and Jennifer Gossett and Michael Gossett of Dayton, Ohio. Other survivors include two sisters; Irene (and Cliff) Ard and Lois (and Willard) Hansford, and one brother Charles Wendell (and Carol) Beshears of Dallas , Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers; Hildred, Roy, Kenneth, Gail and Louid Beshears, and two sisters, Anna B. Burton and Versa B. Weinstraub.
Edith was a retired factory worker at Stanhope Products in Brookville, Ohio, and a member of Parkers Mill Baptist Church. She was an active member of the widows group at Parkers Mill Baptist Church and looked forward to their monthly meetings and luncheons. She and the ladies were very close friends. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and Sister who found joy in cooking and baking for her family and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at 12 noon in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Darry Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
The family of Mrs. Edith Gossett will receive friends after 5 p.m. on Monday, October 8, 2012 at Pulaski Funeral Home.
