Robert Wayne (R.W.) Keeney of Nancy passed away Wednesday, November 7th at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born in Trimble, KY., March 25, 1927, son of the late Coral Lee and Mable Richardson Keeney. He was a lifelong farmer; a member of Sardis United Methodist Church, and a veteran of World War II serving with the 793rd MP in Nuremburg, Germany during the war crimes trials.
He is survived by his loving wife Nina Marian Yanders Keeney who he married July 14, 1945 in Somerset, KY., a son Michael Wayne Keeney and his wife Linda, grandchildren Kristina (Mark) Sauer Louisville, KY., and Roman (Lori) Keeney of West Lafayette, Indiana, great grandchildren Robert Travis and Lucas Michael Keeney, step great grandchildren Virginia and Patrick Sauer, and special extended family members Victorio Flores and his wife Jaquelina, and children Victorio JR. and Jennifer. He is also survived by brothers Linus (Freda) Keeney and Raymond (Eltie) Keeney both of Nancy, sisters Mary (Charles) Stevenson of Nancy, Betty (Bill) Smith of Cinncinnati, Grace (Ronnie) Cary of Bolwing Green, and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Pearl Shepherd, and two brothers Winfred and Murrell Keeney.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 11th at 2:00 P.M. at Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Mangum and Rev. Joe Altman officiating. Visitation at the funeral home will be held Saturday, November 10th from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. Burial will be at Mill Springs National Cemetery on November 13th at 11:00 A.M.
