Joseph "Joe" Clarence Wood, son of the late Rev. S. L. and Effie Marsett Wood, was born in Rogersville, TN on September 27, 1915 and he departed this life on Thursday, November 01, 2007 in Lexington Kentucky having attained the age of 92 years.
He was united in marriage to Margaret Hines Wood, she preceded him in death. Survivors include one brother, Sam (and Phyllis) Wood of Somerset, KY; three sisters, Elizabeth (and Gerald) Lovins of Somerset, KY, Lillian Baker of Somerset, KY, and Grace (and Irvine) Carlier of Blanchester, OH.
Other than his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Lula Brown Wood, three brothers, Jim, Charles, and Rev. Elijah Wood; and four sisters, Margaret Loveless, Ruth Manning, Tillie Hawn and Martha Jackson.
Joe was a retired Electrician from the United States Postal Service, a member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church and a U. S Army Air Corp Veteran of World War II. He was a kind person who will be graetly missed by all who knew him and he leaves a host of relatives, friends and church family to mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2007 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Dr. Harold Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Science Hill Cemetery.
The family of Mr. Joe Wood will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2007.
