Mr. Harry B. Rogers, age 88, son of the late Ossie and Sally (Leese) Rogers was born on May 24, 1924 in Nancy, Kentucky and departed this life on Friday, August 17, 2012 at Cumberland Nursing & Rehab in Somerset, Kentucky.
Other than his parents Harry was preceded in death by 1 brother; Harold Rogers and brother-in-law Omer Todd.
Harry is survived by 3 children; Danny (and Paula) Rogers of Black River, New York, Larry Rogers and Glenda Conner both of Dayton, Ohio, 1 sister; Marie Rogers Todd of Somerset, Kentucky, 3 brothers; Everett (and Joyce) Rogers of Nancy, Kentucky, Vernon (and Eva) Rogers of Sidney, Ohio, and Edgar “Doc” Rogers, his former wife and dearest friend; Margaret Flynn Rogers of Somerset, Kentucky and 1 step-daughter; Brenda Flynn Grothaus of Cincinnati, Ohio. Harry also leaves behind 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews and friends who all mourn his passing.
Harry was retired from General Motors and the National Cash Register “NCR”, was a member of the Nazarene Church in Dayton, Ohio and a World War II Staff Sergeant Veteran of the United States Army where he served under General Patton & General Eisenhower.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in the Mill Springs National Cemetery.
The family of Mr. Harry B. Rogers will receive friends on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 after 11:00 a.m. until time for funeral services at Pulaski Funeral Home.
Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard.
