Herman Stogsdill,89, of Cannonball Rd. was born March2,1923, the son of the late victor and Ona Erp Stogsdill, He departed this life on August 14,2012. Survivors include his wife Edith Pauline Harris Stogsdill, whom he married on April6,1946 in Somerset, KY two sons; Gary Lynn (Sharon) Stogsdill of Somerset and Jerald lee (Emmie) Stogsdill of Mt. Vernon, KY. Five daughters; Connie Sue (Terry) Lay of Hanover, IN, Mary Lou (Clint) Ridener of Ferguson, KY, Brenda Faye (Jerry) Miller of Hanover, IN, Sandra Kay Stogsdill of Somerset, and Judy May (Douglas) Ridner of Somerset, one daughter-in-law; Margaret Elaine Stogsdill of Somerset, one brother; Hollin Stogsdill of Somerset, one sister; Rosa Soots of Indiana. Twenty grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Mr Stogsdill was preceded in death by his parents; two sons; Herman Mitchell and Charles Morris Stogsdill; a grandson, Clayton Stogsdill, a great-grandson; Josiah Miller, four brothers; Homer, Herschel, Hollis, Howard Stogsdill and two sisters; Rilda Calhoun and Retha Stogsdill, one son-in-law William R. Wolfe III and a daughter-in-law Sharon Elizabeth Stogsdill. Herman was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church and a World War II Army Veteran, who was awarded a Purple Heart. He loved music and making instruments, spending time with is family, especially the little ones, and being a friend to the animals. He especially enjoyed his cats. Mr. Stogsdill leaves behind a host of family and friends who mourn his passing, but rejoice in his victory of having obtained the heavenly home he so greatly looked forward to. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 17, 2012 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Thicket Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post # 38 Honor Guard. The family of Mr. Herman Stogsdill will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home after 6:00 p.m. Thursday, August 16, 2012. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of all arrangements for Mr. Herman Stogsdill.
