Beulah (Skippy) Flynn Collins passed away peacefully on July 12, 2012 in Dayton Ohio. Born February 23, 1935 to the late Jim Criss and Vada Flynn in Kidder Kentucky, Skippy, as she was known to her friends, grew up in Wayne County, but resided most of her adult life in Dayton.
Skippy was a devoted homemaker to her family. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and baking. An avid reader, she went back to obtain her GED after her own children were out of school. She worked at Palm Beach Factory, retiring in 1996. Skippy loved to sing gospel hymns and was a member of a gospel quartet with her sister Juanita for a number of years, singing at churches throughout the Midwest.
Skippy is survived by children Alicia Koetter Thompson of Pittsburgh PA, Craig Collins of Miami FL, and Stacey Collins of Dayton OH; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, sisters Juanita Pickett, Zellene Large (Richard), Lorraine Hale (Glen), and Lucille Royster (Jesse) and numerous nieces and nephews. She also leaves a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Hayden, Foley and Jason, and sisters Credia Herman, Betty Jo Broyles Hammond, and Dorothy Irene Flynn.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 20, 2012 at Pulaski County Funeral Home from 6pm to 9pm. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 11:00am in the chapel at Pulaski County Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Liberty Baptist Cemetery in Kidder, Kentucky.
Memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Baptist Church or Cemetery.
