Mr. Woodford Bruce Branham, son of the late Kelly and Mattie Cox Branham, was born at Mariba, Kentucky on March 17, 1930 and he departed this life on Thursday, July 12, 2012 having attained the age of 82 years.
He was first united in marriage to Mrs. Ida Reid Branham on April 12, 1952, she preceded in in death. He later was united in marriage to Mrs. Phyllis Williams Branham, she survives. Other survivors include; one son, Kelly “Andy” Branham of New Smyrna Beach, FL, two daughters, Pamela (and Damon) Hughes of Kenton, OH and Sharon Peoples of New Carlisle, OH; two-stepdaughters, Kim (and Travis) Daulton of Somerset, KY and Beth (and Marty) Trimble of Richmond, KY; one brother, Warren “Buck“ (and Carol) Branham of Germantown, OH; five sisters, Lucille Meadows of Germantown, OH, Mary (and Warren) Little of Miamisburg, OH,, Joyce Hearn of Germantown, OH, Ola (and Fred) Davidson of Miamisburg, OH, and Julia Fern Smith of Miamisburg, OH; two brothers-in-law, Dean Phelps and Ralph Smith; six grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends who mourn his passing.
Other than his parents and first wife, he was also preceded in death by ; one daughter, Debra Branham and two sisters, Bernice Smith and Louise Phelps.
Mr. Branham was retired from the Dayton Post office, and upon retirement, he moved down to Somerset, Kentucky where he lived for the remainder of his life. He was a member of the Burnside United Methodist Church, a member of the American Legion Post # 38, and a member of the Minerva Lodge #0098 F & AM.. While serving our country, he was wounded in the line of duty and received a purple heart for his service. He was a kind person who loved his family and friends and enjoyed fishing.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 23, 2012 at the chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Dr. Richard Held officiating. Burial will follow in the Mill Springs National Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post # 38.
The family will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 12:00 noon on Monday, July 23, 2012 until time for the memorial services. He will also have a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday July 28, 2012 at the Germantown Church of the Nazarene located at 8140 S. Butter Street in Germantown, OH with Pastor Kelly Johnston officiating.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to; the Gideon Memorial Bible Fund, The American Cancer Society, or the Alzhiemers Respite Center.
