Mrs. Ovileen (McClendon) Eastham, age 90, daughter of the late Oscar and Emma Elizabeth (Frye) McClendon was born on April 6, 1922 in Nancy, Kentucky and went to be with Jesus on Thursday, July 5, 2012 in the presence of her family at Somerset Nursing and Rehabilitation.
She was united in marriage to Harlan I. Eastham in November 19, 1936, he preceded her in death. She is also preceding her in death by one sister; Vena Lester, two brothers; Rual McClendon and Ralph McClendon, one son-in-law; Vernon Gaskin, two grandchildren; Pamela Lynn Eastham and Bruce John Eastham.
She is survived by one daughter; Marie Eastham Gaskin of Nancy, Kentucky, two sons; Lawrence (and Pat) Eastham of Bardstown, Kentucky, Lloyd Thomas “Tom” (and Gloria J.) Eastham of Somerset, Kentucky, twin sister; Irene Johnson, five grandsons; Larry Eastham and Karin of Midway, Kentucky, Richard (and Kim) Gaskin of Somerset, Kentucky, Sam Eastham of Jolon, California, David (and Allison) Murray of Somerset, Kentucky and Michael (and Tammy) Murray of Somerset, Kentucky. Ovileen also leaves behind the following great grandchildren; Stephanie Meyers, Kayla Eastham, Cameron Eastham, Dylan Gaskin, Madison Gaskin, Jared Murray, Hannah Murray, Adalynn Murray, Isaac Murray, Evie Sage Eastham, Elijah Eastham and one great-great granddaughter; Olivia Rice, several nieces, nephews and friends who all mourn her passing.
Mrs. Ovileen was a retired Methodist Minister of 31 years and served the Lord during her tenure at Cooks Chapel United Methodist and Ringgold United Methodist Church.
A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, July 9, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Cochran and Rev. Scott Whittle officiating.
The family of Mrs. Eastham will receive friends on Sunday, July 8, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. at Pulaski Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers family request expressions take the form of donations to Cooks Chapel Church or Cemetery Fund and/or to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
