Denver Allen Mink, age 82 of Fishtrap Road, Somerset, Kentucky went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at the Somerset Nursing & Rehabilitation Facility.
He was born July 20, 1929 at Plato, Kentucky to the late Steve Allen Mink and Bea Bullock Mink.
He was a lifelong dairy farmer. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church at Welborn, Kentucky where he served as a deacon and Sunday school director for many years. He was a Korean War Veteran having served in the U.S. Army.
Preceding him in death were his parents, , his loving wife of 55 years, Elva Ping Mink and one son, Johnny Allen Mink. Also preceding him are his grandchildren, JaDonna Nicole Mink, Christopher James Mink, and Cody Ryan Burnett; his sisters, Ofa Louise Chaney and Elva Chaney.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory; eight children, Jerry Wayne (and Tammy) Ping of Ocala, Florida, Brenda Sue (and Steve) Flynn, Jim (and Janice) Mink of Nancy, KY, Junior “Doc” (and Sheryl) Mink, Linda (and Harold) Burnett, William “Bill” Mink, Glenda (and Orville) Brown, and Sherry Richards of Somerset, KY; his brothers, Tommy (and Ruth) Mink of Martinsville, Indiana, Cloyd Lee Mink of Somerset, Kentucky, and William Logan Bullock of Versailles, Kentucky. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Michael (and Angie) Ping, Bruce Ping, Josh Stevens, Jamie (and Christy) Woodall, Amber (and Chris) Hobdy, Whitney Mink, Joshua Mink, Ashley (and David) Hawk, Tanner Burnett, Cammeron Brown, Dakota Brown, Jake Richards, and Jaron Richards; great grandchildren, Dyllon, Keeley, and Gracie Ping, Haley Ping, Logan and Luke Stevens, Morgan Woodall, Maddox Mink, Kylie and Kaden Hobdy and Emma and Alli Hawk.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 5, 2012 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. William Brown and Bro. Bradley Goforth officiating. Burial will follow in the Upper Line Creek Cemetery.
The family of Mr. Denver Allen Mink will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home after 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 4, 2012. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post # 38.
In Lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Pleasant View Baptist Church.
