Bishop Donald Lee McCormack

Bishop Donald Lee McCormack, age 68, entered into his season of rest on Friday, June 29, 2012. He was born on January 16, 1944 to the late Katherine Louis Cooper and Archie McCormack in Stanford, KY; into the community of Bowen, which he always spoke of with heartfelt memories. He was united in marriage to the late Elaine McCormack on November 7, 1995. He had worked at Centre College in Danville, KY from 1977 to 1997 and was last employed as a nurse aide and laundry attendant with Oakwood Training Facility in Somerset, KY. He will be missed by his surviving brother Alfred L. McCormack and Rick Alexander (nephew) whom he was caregiver to until his health declined.. He also leaves to cherish his memory; mother-in-law, Mary Tooley; stepdaughter, Delinda Newell & her husband, Sean; one grandson, Savion Newell; brother-in law, Sebastian “Dusty” Walker, special friends, Joseph & Christina Moreno with whom he resided & was cared for with Christian love in his last days; and a host of nieces & nephews, many Church Associates and friends. He was preceded in death by: four sisters, Anna Pearl, Mary Katherine, Patsy Ann and Rosetta; and three brothers, Givens, William and Charles McCormack. Bishop McCormack was baptized into the Apostolic Faith by Bishop C. W. Boyd in 1970 and received the gift of the Holy Ghost. He declared himself to be “a One God Man” ever since. He started his ministry in Bowen and continued there for 12 years. He also had worked closely with Bishop Earl D. Thornton in Lancaster, KY for many years. He was Pastor of Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith in Tompkinsville, KY for about 4 years. He was ministered in Somerset and various other places spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2012 at the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bishop Earl D. Thornton officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens. The family of Bishop Donald Lee McCormack will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2012. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of all arrangements fro Bishop Donald Lee McCormack.
