Mr. Gary Schroeder, the son of Helen Stimpson Schroeder and the late Orval Schroeder, was born in Watseka, IL, on May 18, 1941, and he departed this life suddenly on October 09, 2007 having attained the age of 66 years.
He was united in marriage to Mrs. Carol Kimmel Schroeder on June 25, 1966, who survives. In addition to his wife and mother, survivors include; one daughter, Jori Johnson and her husband Perry Johnson, Jr. both of Somerset, KY; two sons, Brian Schroeder and Craig Schroeder, both of Lexington, KY; three grandchildren, Haley, Mackenzi, and Amanda Johnson; and one sister, Mary Lou Varner and her husband Ed, of Watseka, IL, and her sister-in-law, Cindy Bell of Mohomet, IL.
Other than his father, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Daniel Schroeder.
Gary enjoyed golfing, houseboating, and attending sporting events. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and he was co-owner of Premier Properties of Lake Cumberland and the acting President of the Somerset-Lake Cumberland Association of Realtors.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, and he leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2007 at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the Somerset Cemetery.
The family of Mr. Gary Schroeder will receive friends at Redeemer Lutheran Church from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, October 12, 2007, where Mr. Schroeder's remains will lie until after funeral services.

Gary Schroeder Memorial Scholarship
Gary Schroeder was commonly sighted at many local high school sporting
events. Gary loved all sports, but had a special interest in soccer
because
his two sons, Brian and Craig, had played. The Schroeder family is
starting
a college scholarship for soccer players from the Somerset area based
on
academics, achievements on the soccer field, and community involvement.
The
Schroeder family intends to keep the annual Gary Schroeder Memorial
Scholarship going for many more years. Donations can be made out to
