Mildred Poynter

Mrs. Mildred Poynter, age 76, of Somerset, Kentucky, daughter of the late Harlan and Lily (Anders) Merritt was born on September 18, 1935 in Somerset, Kentucky and departed this life on Sunday, June 17, 2012 at the Somerset Nursing & Rehab. Other than her parents Mrs. Poynter was preceded in death by her husband; Lewis Poynter, 3 brothers; James, Denny and Clifton Merritt and one son; Harmon Poynter. Mildred is survived by 4 children; Ferlin Poynter of Somerset, Janey (and Linden) Isbell of Somerset, Ronnie Merritt of Somerset, Linda (and John) Clontz, 9 brothers and sisters; Windell Merritt of London, Oakley Merritt of Somerset, Jewell Sears of Somerset, Donald Merritt of Lancaster, Iva Issacs of Lancaster, Joyce Meadows of Lancaster, Tiffard Merritt of Lancaster, Betty Alexander of Lancaster and Kit Merritt of London. Mildred also leaves behind 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends who mourn her passing. Mildred was a member of Poplarville Baptist Church and was a homemaker and loved quilting, cooking, and working in her flower bed. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Lowell Gossett officiating. Burial will follow in the Poplarville Cemetery. The family of Mrs. Mildred Poynter will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Pulaski Funeral Home.
