Alma Dean Leugers, of the Dahl Elrod Community, and daughter of the late Lloyd and Opal Ping Meece, was born in the Acorn Community of Pulaski County, KY on October 13, 1931 and she departed this life on Sunday, June 3, 2012 in Corbin, KY having attained the age of 80 years, 7 months and 21 days.
She was united in marriage to Mr. Ormond Leugers, he preceded her in death. Survivors include: two daughters, Brenda (and George) Urfer of Lexington, KY, and Genia (and Mike) Warford of Somerset, KY; three sisters, Sue (and Roy) Conner, Shirley (and John) Castro, and Melissa (and Larry) McClure; One brother, Kenneth (and Beverly) Meece; two granddaughters, Stacie (and Keith) Ashley, and Hayley Urfer; two grandsons, Steve (and Tammy) Warford and Brad (and Debbie) Warford; six great grandchildren, Leandra Bishop, Austin Warford, Cody Warford, Jack Warford, and Mitchell Warford and Eric Luppens.
Other than her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Mr. Ormond Leugers; three brothers, Bobby Meece, Granville Meece, and Gayle Meece; and one sister, Delores Meece
She was a homemaker, and a part of Sinking Valley Baptist Church. A kind, loving and selfless person, , she enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends who will miss her very much.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Bradley Goforth, Bro. Kevin Bullock, and Bro. Rick Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in the Renfro Cemetery.
The family of Mrs. Alma Dean Leugers will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2012.
