Mr. Raymond Russell Smith

Mr. Russell Smith, age 89, son of the late John Millard and Betty Lee (Cain) Smith was born in Stanford, Kentucky on June 11, 1922 and passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at his residence in the presence of his family. He was united in marriage to Christene Gregory Smith on December 10, 1949, she survives. Other survivors include 6 nieces and 4 nephews. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Ralph M. Smith and John B. Smith, and 2 sisters, Winnie Wesley and Dorothy Suggs. Russell was a member of the West Science Hill Baptist Church, and a World War II U.S. Army Veteran. He was a member of the Mt. Gilead Lodge # 255 F & AM and the Waynesburg Chapter 501 O.E.S. He was a former employee of the Carnation Company located on South Richardson Drive where he was employed for 23 years, as well as the Pulaski County Board of Education, for 13 years, having been retired since 1986. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Norman Harper and Bro. Ron Meece officiating. Burial will follow in the Mill Springs National Cemetery at Nancy, KY. The family of Mr. Smith will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. Wednesday until time for services. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of all arrangements for Mr. Russell Smith.
