Cloyd Ottis Bumgardner Cloyd Ottis Bumgardner was born November 10, 1933 to Gladys Poynter Bumgardner and Ottis Bumgardner in the Elrod-Ocala Community of Pulaski County. Cloyd married Lois Todd in 1961 and they had two children Cloyd Jeffrey and Tamara Lynn. He attended Hazel Dell Elementary School and graduated from Shopville High School in 1953. He was a veteran of the United States Army, stationed primarily in Germany, and was later a graduate of Berea College in 1959 with a B.A. Degree in Biology. He attended Eastern Kentucky University where he received a B.S. Degree in Chemistry, M.A. in Education, and certificates in Primary and Secondary School Administration and Leadership. Preceding him in death were his parents, and two infant brothers. He is survived by Lois Todd Bumgardner, Cloyd Jeffrey Bumgardner, Tamara Lynn Bumgardner (William Reed Clements), William Daniel Bumgardner Clements (grandson), Harold Bumgardner (brother) and Eleanor Morris (sister). He taught for 5 years in Ohio before moving home in 1964 to serve initially as Principal of Woodstock Elementary School and later Pulaski County and White Lily Elementary Schools. He held several leadership positions in the Pulaski County School System including Facilities Director and Finance Director. Cloyd attended Elrod Church of God which was the church of his youth. He loved the great outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming. His hobbies included restoring vintage John Deere Tractors, woodwork and amateur radio. The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Chris Jasper officiating. Burial will follow in the Bobbitt Cemetery. The family of Mr. Cloyd Ottis Bumgardner will receive friends after 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Pulaski Funeral Home. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of all arrangments for Mr. Cloyd Ottis Bumgardner.
