Betty June Burgess Hill, daughter of the late Willie and Myrtie Burgess, entered this life on March 12, 1931 and departed this life peacefully at her home at the age of 81 on Tuesday, April 24, 2012.
Betty was a proud member of the Pleasant Hill Community for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all that knew her. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, canning, and gardening. She faithfully served the Lord Jesus Christ and was a member of the First Apostolic Church of Somerset.
Other than her parents, Betty was preceded in death back on December 2, 2011 by her husband, Monta Ray Hill of 63 years, six brothers; Stanley, Haywood, Baisel, Billy, Ronald, and Donald Burgess, three sisters; Phyllis Bell, Jeanise Burgess, and Louise Fairchild.
Betty is survived by six children; David (Cheryl) Hill of Somerset, Rhonda (David) Henson of Clermont, GA, Brenda (Gary) Peavie, Jeff (Tina) Hill, Rebecca (Joe) Cox, Kathy (Johnny) Phelps all of Somerset, KY; one brother, Ralph Burgess, Wilmore, KY, and three sisters, Edna Whaley, of Mason Ohio, Joyce (Lonnie) Chitwood, and Ruth (Ron) Konen of Florence, KY; 15 grandchildren, Sherri (Mike) Phillips, Kim (Jessie) Godsey, Tawnyah Hill, and Chris (Kim) Dobbs, all of Monticello, KY, Kenny (Lisa) Hill, Shawnda Dobbs, Jonathon and Aslynne Hill, Emily, Bethany, Nathaniel Cox, and Shaelyn Phelps, all of Somerset, KY, Jeremy (Chasity) Peavie, Richmond, KY, Chasity (Jeremy) Allen of Mount Vernon, KY, and Adam Henson of Georgia, 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 27, 2012 at the First Apostolic Church with Rev. Joe Cox, Rev. Paul Perkins, and Rev. Mike Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Somerset.
Friends may call after 5:00 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Pulaski Funeral Home and at the Church Friday, April 27, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until time for services.
