Raymond William “Cush” Greshaw, son of the late Bedford and Ella Shaw Greshaw, was born on March 2, 1923 and he departed this life on Friday, April 13, 2012 in Louisville, KY having attained the age of 89 years.
He was united in marriage to Shirley Lipscomb Greshaw, she preceded him in death. Survivors include; two sons; Curtis (and Lesa) Greshaw, and Timothy (and Brenda) Lipscomb; one daughter, Sharlene Greshaw; 11 grandchildren, Samantha Roberts Johnson, Natosha Greshaw, Tiffany Farmer Baker, Timothy Farmer, Toby Greshaw, Christopher Farmer, Alexis Lipscomb, Brianna Lipscomb, Trevor Brian Lipscomb, Marcus Smith and Shadae Smith Russell; 24 great grandchildren.
Other than his parents and wife, he is also preceded in death by; two brothers, John Gilmore, Lafayette Greshaw; four sisters, Florene Gilmore Labell, Francette Gilmore Wilson, Louise Gilmore Duncan, and Bethany Greshaw; one son, William Brian Lipscomb; one grandson, Joshua Scott Lipscomb; and a
step-son, David R. Lipscomb.
Raymond was an employee for 34 years at the bank now known as BB&T , and he was a member of the South Maple Street Baptist Church and a WW II and Korean War Veteran.
Funeral services for Mr.Greshaw will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at the Maple Street baptist Church with Rev. James Bartleston officiating. Burial will follow in the Stanford Pike Cemetery.
The family of Mr. Raymond William “Cush” Greshaw will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home form 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012 and at the church on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until time for services.
Military honors will be conducted by the American legion Post # 38.
