Mr. Charles Massie Camden, of Somerset, son of the late Robert Roy and Gladys (Harris) Camden was born on May 10, 1922 in Gold Hill, Virginia and departed this life on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital having attained the age of 89.
Other than his parents Charles was preceded in death by his wife: Mary (Wardrop) Camden on April 27, 2011 and one step-sister; Ruth Carter.
Mr. Camden is survived by 1 son; Samuel Victor (and Janice) Camden of Crystal Lake, IL., 1 daughter; Mary Lee Jasper of Somerset, KY., 1 brother; Robert Roy Camden Jr. of Daytona, FL., 6 grandchildren; Bryan Andrew (and Suzanne) Jasper of New York, Steven Tyler Jr. (and Cynthia) Jasper of Somerset, Dawna Lee Camden of Indianapolis, IN., Amanda Elizabeth (and Shawn) Spina of Fox Lake, IL., Victoria Lynn Camden and Christian Lucas Phillip Camden of Clearwater, FL. Charles also leaves behind 9 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends who all mourn his passing.
Charles was retired from the United States Air Force where he served for over 20 years as a Electronics Technician for Aerial Photographic Reconnaissance Equipment. Charles also owned his own Real Estate Brokerage firm and was just a handyman. He was a member of Pisgah Presbyterian Church and was a member of Civitan International. Charles was a member of Somerset Masonic Lodge 111 and also served as secretary for the lodge for many years.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 26, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Ryan officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
The family of Mr. Charles Camden will receive friends on Monday, March 26, 2012 after 11:00 a.m. until time for services. A Masonic service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. prior to funeral time.
Military honors will be conducted be the American Legion Post #38.
