Mildred Irene Bell, age 89, a resident of Sunrise Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, passed away at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital on March 7, 2012.
She was born in Point Pleasant, West Virginia on April 4, 1922, daughter of Joe Chaffin and Mae Vanhook.
Mildred was a devout Christian who always enjoyed reading her bible and doing her daily devotions. She was a member of the World Wide Church of God and loved attending church as long as her health permitted.
She enjoyed television, gospel music and visiting different points of interest in and around Kentucky, and living at various state park resorts where her husband, Ed worked as a chef.
Mildred is survived by three sisters, Emogene Randolph of Casey County, Juanita Dykes Garner and Delores (and Glen) Whitis of Somerset, Kentucky and a brother, Roy (and Patricia) Chaffin of Elwood, Indiana. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Herbert Marshall Frederick, Jr., Dennis Scott Frederick, and Melissa (and John) Gordon of Jacksonville, Florida. Many nieces and nephews and her extended family at Sunrise Manor who were so kind to her.
Other than her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Bell and her only son, Herbert Marshall Frederick, Sr. who passed away on January 4, 2012. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Christine Dunbar, and brothers-in-law, Freddie Deforest “Sonny” Dykes and Horace Randolph.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday Evening March 9, 2012 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Dykes officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in the Somerset Cemetery.
The family of Mrs. Mildred Irene Bell will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. Friday evening until time for services.
