Helen J. Placke, daughter of the Late Raymond and Ruth Hughes Ping, was born in the Acorn Community of Pulaski County on May 13, 1937 and she departed this life on March 5, 2012 having attained the age of 74 years.
She was united in marriage to Mr. William Henry Placke, he preceded her in death. Survivors include; two brothers, Gerald (and Frances) Ping of Alabama, Raymond (and Lynn) Ping of Florida; two sisters, Carol (and Glen) Skiver of Indiana, and Gathel (and James) Mounce of Somerset, KY; one brother-in-law, Dean Allen of Ohio, and several other nephews, nieces and other relatives who mourn her passing.
Other than her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two twin children who died at birth; one sister, Barbara Allen.
When she was active and working, she worked for the Somerset School System in the Cafeteria.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2012 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Joey Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in the Mill Springs National Cemetery.
The family of Mrs. Helen Placke will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2012.
