Mr. Virthel Baugh, son of the late Clarence and Zella Trimble Baugh, was born in Nancy, KY on November 19, 1930 and he departed this life on March 6, 2012 having attained the age of 81 years.
He was united in marriage to Mrs. Edith Hail Baugh, she survives. Other survivors include; one son, Craig (and Glenna) Baugh of Lancaster, KY; two daughters, Sherri (and Jim) Mounce of Somerset, KY, and Denise Baugh of Lexington, KY; three bothers, Lewis (and Brenda) Colyer of Eubank, KY, Loren (and Joyce) Colyer of Dayton, Ohio, Vernus (and Barbara) Colyer of Cincinnati, OH; one sister, Mary (and James) May of Waynesburg, KY; one sister-in-law, Thelma Colyer; four grandchildren, Josh Mounce, Megan Mounce, James Baugh, and Joseph Baugh and a host of other relatives and friends who mourn his passing.
Other than his mother and father, he is also preceded in death by; one brother, Vincent Colyer; his step-father, Leeman Colyer, and his step-mother, Irene Baugh.
Was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Somerset, the Woodstock Masonic Lodge # 639 F & AM, the Somerset Chapter 23 Order of the Eastern Star, Somerset Chapter 25 R.A.M., Somerset Counsel # 68 R & SM, Somerset Commandery # 31, the KYCH, and the Somerset Independent Order of Oddfellows.
He worked for many years at General Electric Glass Plant and retired from there.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Somerset with Dr. French Harmon officiating, Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post # 38.
The family of Mr. Virthel J. Baugh will receive friends at the First Baptist Church of Somerset after 5:00 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2012 and after 9:00 a.m. Friday until time for services.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Alzheimers Respite Center.
