Mrs. Marie Stigall Shelton, age 86 of Burnside, Kentucky, departed this life on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at her residence in the presence of her family. Marie was born on May 7, 1925 in Tateville, Kentucky, to the late John and Bertha Cox Stigall. Marie married Ardell Shelton on May 17th, 1943 in Ringold, Georgia. Marie was a homemaker and she led a life of service to God and her family.
Marie is survived by Ardell, her husband of 68 years, two sons; Charlie (and Juanita) Shelton of Nicholasville, Kentucky, Dee Shelton (Cindy) of Clarksville, Indiana, two daughters; Mary Elizabeth Kline of Burnside, Kentucky and Brenda Shelton of Burnside, Kentucky. Marie is also survived by 3 sisters, Alice Shelton of Monticello, Kentucky, Lorene Larrimore of New Castle, Indiana, Ellen Lacy of New Castle, Indiana. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; Yvonne Laughman, Trent Denney Shelton, Dee Shelton II, Michelle Mayfield, Barry Shelton, Eric Shelton, David Shelton, Theresa Fisher, Timmy King, Charles Shelton II, Eugene Ardell Shelton, Misty Shelton, Candy Shelton. She is also survived by 31 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Special to her heart, great grandson, Kane Shelton.
Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers; David Stigall and Earl Stigall. Three sisters; Eva Sidwell, Lucy Cunningham, Josephine Sullivan, one son; Carl Shelton, daughter-in-law; Joyce Haynes Shelton, one grandson; T.J. Shelton.
Pallbearers for Marie Stigall Shelton will be; Randy Laughman, Dee Shelton, Dee Shelton II, Trent Denny Shelton, Mallie Gibson, Charles Shelton. Honorary Pallbearers will be her great grandsons; Tyler, Trenton, Denny Shelton, Dee Shelton III and Kane Shelton.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the Gravehill Cemetery.
The family of Mrs. Marie Stigall Shelton will receive friends on Saturday, January 14, 2012 after 6:00 p.m. at the Pulaski Funeral Home.
