Mrs. Carrie Collins, of 232 Cherokee Trail, Somerset, KY and the daughter of the late Harlan and Lorcey Ellen Hadley Coffey was born on November 06, 1916 in Russell County, KY and she departed this life on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at her residence having attained the age of 90 years.
On August 16, 1934, she was united in marriage to Mr. Olin Collins in Jeffersonville, IN; he preceded her in death on October 15, 1983. She was a member of the United Baptist Church.
Survivors include; one son, Eldra Dean Collins of Somerset, KY; two daughters, Janice Ellen Ruttkofsky of Tecumseh, MI and Joyce Elaine Guenther of Saline, MI; four grandchildren, Jeanette (and Jim) Snyder, John Sackreiter, Lawrence (and Kathy) Guenther, and Deborah (and Mark) Austin; five great grandchildren, Jennifer, Scott, Ashley, Kassie, and Shelby all of Michigan; one brother, Rufus Coffey of Michigan and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends who mourn her passing.
Other than her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by; two sisters, Alma Norlett, and Ruth Grider; two brothers, Frank and Sammie Coffey and; one son-in-law, Roland Guenther.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 13, 2007 at the chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. darry Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
The family of Mrs. Carrie Collins will receive friends at Pulaski Funeral Home after 6:00 p.m. Sunday, August 12, 2007 and after 8:00 a.m. Monday, August 13, until after services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
