Lib Tucker, daughter of the late Bro. Alonzo and Pearlie Troxtell Mitchell, was born in Somerset, KY on September 4, 1936 and she departed this life in the presence of her family at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital having attained the age of 70 years 11 months and 5 days. She was united in marriage to Mr. Wendell Tucker on September 16, 1955 in Tateville, KY, he survives.
Other survivors include; two children, Vickie (and Leland) Keith and Gene (and Terri) Tucker all of Bronston, KY; four grandchildren, Amy Keith of Bronston, KY, Tracy (and Eric) Kennedy of Bronston, KY, Jeremy (and Meghan) Tucker of Burnside, KY, and Sarah Tucker of Bronston, KY; one great grand daughter, Keisha Kennedy of Bronston, KY. She was momaw to Tammy (and Rick) Boyer and Matthew Smith of Bronston, KY and she was also a special Aunt to a host of nephews and nieces. She is also survived by; three sisters, Pauline (and Ardell) Casada of Somerset, KY, Opal Morrow of Bronston, KY and Brenda (and Bro. Harold) Taylor of Somerset, KY; and one brother, Brent (and Darla) Mitchell of South Amherst, OH.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by; her in-laws, Mosie and Millie Tucker; one sister, Margaret Tucker and several brothers and sisters who died in infancy.
Libby sang in different gospel groups in this area and in South Amherst, Ohio. She was a sunday school teacher and she held many different offices in her church; the Old Fashioned Faith Baptist Church located on Todd Street in Somerset, KY. She was a kind and Godly woman who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her, she leaves a host of relatives, friends and church family who both mourn her passing and celebrate her homegoing.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 12, 2007 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Scott Mitchell and Bro. Ulanda Price officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Cemetery.
The family of Mrs. "Lib" Tucker will receive friends after 5:00 p.m. Saturday, August 11, 2007 at the Pulaski Funeral Home.
