Marshall Frederick, age 68, of Jacksonville, Florida was born March 21, 1943 in Casey County, Kentucky, the son of Mildred Bell and the late Elvin Frederick left this world on Wednesday, January 4th, 2012 in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Other that his father, he was also preceded in death by his step-father, Edgar Bell.
Marshall is survived by his mother, Mildred Bell of Somerset, KY; his children, Herbert Marshall Frederick, Jr., Dennis Scott Frederick and Melissa (and John) Gordon; the following grandchildren, Travis, Matthew, Christopher and Jonathon, all of Jacksonville, Florida. Aunts, Emogene Randolph of Casey County, KY, Juanita Dykes garner and Delores Whitis of Somerset, KY, Helen Frederick Semscott of Arlington, Indiana and one uncle, Mr. Roy Chaffin of Elwood, Indiana. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Sharon “Betty” Malena of Jacksonville, Florida.
Marshall was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served 10 years. He was stationed at many foreign ports and on a ship that was involved in the Bay of Pigs incident.
He was a dental lab Technician by trade and was the owner of a dental laboratory in Jacksonville, Florida and also the Sunshine Dental Lab in Somerset, Kentucky, before he became disabled. He was affiliated with the Nazarene Church in Jacksonville, Florida .
Marshall enjoyed listening to audio books, watching television, and researching on the internet, but most of all he enjoyed his daily phone calls to his mother.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, January 9, 2012 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Dykes officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in the Mill Springs national Cemetery.
The family of Mr. Marshall Herbert Frederick will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until time for funeral services.
