Mrs. Dorothy Carter, age 88, of Somerset, Kentucky departed this life on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at the Sunrise Manor Nursing & Rehab Facility.
She was born in Redding, Ohio on April 27, 1923, daughter of the late George and Myrtle Vaness Boehl. She was a nurses Aid for Willows Nursing Home in Pisgah, Ohio for 22 years. She was a veteran of the United States Army and served in World War II as a surgical technician.
She is survived by two sons, Dennis & (Cindy) Carter of Hamilton, OH and Terry & (Mary) Carter of Middletown, OH, one daughter, Bonnie & (Harry) Cable of Lebanon, OH and two sisters, Millie & (Gene) Peck and JoAnn & (Jack) Hoelscher.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Carter, her parents, two brothers, Earl Boehl and Melvin Boehl and two sisters, Alma Coleman and Jeanie Hammergren.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Butte officiating.
Burial will follow in the Bronston Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family of Mrs. Dorothy Carter will receive friends on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 after 12 noon until time for services at Pulaski Funeral Home.
Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard.
