Monta Ray Hill

Monta Ray Hill, age 82, of the Pleasant Hill Community in Somerset, KY departed this life at his residence surrounded by his family on Friday, Dec. 2, 2011.
He was born March 19, 1929 in Monticello, KY, the son of the late Vota and Ada Mullins Hill. He was a former employee of Southern Belle Dairy for 32 years, a carpenter and a life- long farmer. He was a Lumberjack bowling league member for 25 + years. He drew his strength from the Lord Jesus Christ and faithfully attended the First Apostolic Church of Somerset.
He was the husband of Betty June Burgess Hill of 63 years, who survives.
He is also survived by two sons, David (Cheryl) Hill, and Jeff (Tina) Hill of Somerset, KY, four daughters Rhonda (David) Henson of Clermont, GA, Brenda (Gary) Peavie, Rebecca (Joe) Cox, and Kathy (Johnny) Phelps all of Somerset, KY. Two sisters Irene Bell of CA, and Phyllis Zidell of Fla. Fifteen grandchildren; Sherri (Mike) Phillips, Kim (Jessie) Godsey, Tawnyah Hill, Chris (Kim) Dobbs all of Monticello, KY, Kenny(Lisa) Hill, Shawnda Dobbs, Jonathan and Aslynne Hill, Emily , Bethany and Nathaniel Cox, Shaelyn Phelps all of Somerset, KY, Jeremy (Chasity) Peavie Richmond, KY and Chasity (Jeremy) Allen Mt. Vernon, KY and Adam Henson, of GA.; thirteen great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Preceding him in death was four brothers George, Robert, Norman, and Jack Hill; two sisters, Vela Eads, and Thelma Barbour.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 on Monday at the First Apostolic Church with Rev. Joe Cox and Rev. Mike Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens, Somerset.
Friends may call after 5:00 pm Sunday, Dec. 4th at Pulaski Funeral Home and at the church Monday from 9:00 until time for service.
