Hazel Aileen Stevens Taylor, 82, of Somerset, KY passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2007.
She was the eldest child of the late Jeremiah Fountian "Jerry" and Beulah Robbins Stevens, born on March 28, 1925 in her family home, delivered by; her grandmothers, Melinda Ellen Stevens and Martha DeBorde Robbins. She moved to Dayton, OH in 1944 where she met and married Jesse S. Taylor from Gatliff, KY. Together they had; three wonderful children, Ronald Jerry Taylor, Phillip Larry Taylor and Brenda Taylor Mosley.
Hazel was a devoted wife, mother, grandma and great grandma. The matriarch of the Taylor family since the passing of her husband, Jesse in 2001, Hazel remained active and involved with not only her beloved family members, but also with various charities; at Beacon Hill Baptist Church, The Order of the Eastern Star, and the National Federation of Republican Women. Her heart knew no bounds and she gave tirelessly of herself to family, friends and the causes inwhich she believed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Jesse, her husband of 57 years and her brother, Rev. Harold E. Stevens.
Hazel Taylor is survived by; her sister, Christine Stevens Sowers; and her brother-in-law, Euzenith Sowers of Richmond, KY; her sister, Velda Stevens Hinkle of Somerset, KY; her brother, James Lester Stevens and his wife Charlene of Louisville, KY; her children, and thier spouses, Ron and Barbara Taylor, Larry and Beth Taylor, and Brenda and Gary Mosley; her grandchildren, Dawn and John Sweeney, Jesse Taylor, Amanda and David Fessehazion, and Dane Taylor; and her great grandson, Joshua Sweeney. She is additionally survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Jasper officiating. Burial will follow in the Burnett Chapel Cemetery.
The family of Mrs. Hazel Aileen Stevens Taylor will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at the Pulaski Funeral Home.
