Mrs. Julie Ann (Godby) Hamilton, age 48, of Somerset, Kentucky, daughter of Samuel Ray Godby and the late Barbara Joan (Linkes) Godby was born on December 30, 1962 in Somerset, Kentucky and departed this life on Monday, October 10, 2011 at her residence in the presence of her family.
She was united in marriage on January 14, 1996 to her husband; Bobby Hamilton he survives. She is also survived by her father; Samuel Ray (and Marilyn) Godby of Somerset, Kentucky, 1 step son; Lucas Hamilton of Somerset, Kentucky, 2 sisters; Debbie (and John) Rogers of Somerset, Kentucky and Donna (and Mickey) Ray of Somerset, Kentucky, 1 sister-in-law; Glenda Hamilton of Somerset, Kentucky, 1 brother-in-law; Bill Hamilton of Somerset, Kentucky, 3 nephews; Ben (and Heather) Rogers of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Michael (and Tara) Ray of Somerset, Kentucky and Sam Hamilton of Jacksonville, Florida, 4 nieces; Samantha Rogers of Lexington, Kentucky, Miranda (and Brian) Denney of Campbellsville, Kentucky, Lauren Rogers of Lexington, Kentucky and Tesa Hamilton of Somerset, Kentucky. Julie also leaves behind 3 great nieces & nephews; Hadley Rogers of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Jaxson and Izzy Ray of Somerset, Kentucky and many other great aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and her best friend and loyal canine companion, Taz. Julie was a kind and loving person who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Julie was a member of the Somerset First Baptist Church and a graduate of Somerset High School and Western Kentucky University. Julie worked for the Pulaski County Government, and was a Tourist Commission Director as well as being a Realtor & Auctioneer for Samuel Ray Godby Realty & Auction. Julie was also a member of the Pulaski County Board of Realtors, a FCA Board Member and a past Board Member of the Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at the Somerset First Baptist Church with Bro. Michael Phelps and Dr. French Harmon officiating.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 13, 2011 after 4:00 p.m. until time for services at the church.
The family request that expressions of sympathy take the form of donation to the Science Hill Garden Club and/or to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
