Alberta Wesley Gossett, daughter of the late Ira and Maud Pike Randolph, was born in Middleburg, KY on August 28, 1925 and she departed this life on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 in Somerset, KY having attained the age of 86 years.
She was united in marriage to Mr. Eugene Gossett on May 13, 1977, he preceded her in death on February 3, 1999.
Survivors include; two sons, Bill D. (and Stella) Smith of Lexington, KY; Donovan (and Vickie) Smith, of Somerset, KY; and one daughter, Rebecca Phelps of Lexington, KY; 13 grandchildren, Don (and Robin) Smith of Somerset, KY, Julie (and Brad) Stevens of Somerset, KY, and Matt (and Shonda) Smith Lexington, KY, Joe (and Kathy) Phelps, Joanna (and Mike) Finney, Misty (and Mike) Matheny of Lexington, KY, Tiffany (and Jason) McCoy, Tori Phelps, Eli Phelps, and Clayton and J.B. Carroll, Adrea Smith, Gabriel Smith, and Jonathon Smith all of Lexington, KY and 15 great grandchildren, Josh, Mackenzie, Morgan, Noah, Luke, Cole, Emi Jo, Mason, Ella, Jameson, Lillian, Marshal, Logan, Wesley, and Kyle; three sisters, Myrtle Cundiff of Greencastle, IN, Pauline Richards of Winchester, OH, and Bertha Williams of Yosemite, KY; one brother-in-law, Edward Noel of Casey County and two sisters-in-law; Louise Randolph of Batavia, OH and Carol Owens of Rockford, IL.
Other than her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by; six siblings, Orpha Bryant, Edna Baugh, Ira C. Randolph, Marie Noel, Sherman Randolph, and an infant brother, John Glen Randolph.
Mrs. Gossett worked as a clerk in the retail market for many years, she was a kind, Christian lady who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2011 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. David Morris officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
The family of Mrs. Alberta Wesley Gossett will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2011.
