Mr. Edsel Ford Bandy, son of the late Tamp and Carri Gladys Brinkley Bandy was born May 5,1925 in Granite Falls NC and departed this life in Somerset, on September 18, 2011 having attained the age of 86 years. Mr. Bandy was married to Betty Buff on November 14, 1947 in York SC she survives. He is survived by three sons; , Don and (Susi McAlpin) Bandy, Darrell Ford Bandy, and Dwight (and Lisa Eastham ) Bandy all of Somerset, eight grand children; Julie M. Smith, Jody Evan Bandy, Donna Hope Bentley, Heather Nicole Combs, Holli Michelle Estill, Heidi Suzann Dunagan and Carolyn Elizabeth Musterman; twenty great grandchildren and a vast host of other relatives and friends who mourn her passing. Other than his parents, he was also preceded in death by; one brother, Worth Bandy. Mr. Bandy was the co-founder and co-owner of Ikerd and Bandy Coal Company he was also a World War II Navy Veteran. He was a kind gentleman who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services will be held at 11::00 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2011 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Vincent officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post # 38. The family of Mr. Edsel Ford Bandy will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2011. In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, 100 Parkway Dive, Somerset, KY 42503. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of all arrangements for Mr. Edsel Ford Bandy.
