Mary R. Burton

Mary R. Burton, daughter of the late Harve B. and Artie Raines Ragan, was born in the Mill Springs Community on April 2, 1923 and she departed this life on September 20, 2011 in Somerset, KY having attained the age of 88 years. She was united in marriage to Dr. Edsel Hughes Burton. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by 1 sister; Lexie Huffaker. Survivors include; one son, Mr. Joe Burton and his wife, Karen of Faubush, Kentucky; 2 sisters; Georgia Ragan of Monticello, Ann Young of Richmond, two grandchildren, Rev. Donavan Burton and his wife, Lisa and Mr. Chris Burton and his wife Christa; four great grandchildren, Wyatt and Garrett Burton and Ragan and Owen Burton and she leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews who all mourn her passing. Other than her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one brother; Marshall Ragan. Mary was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church at Faubush. She was a kind Christian lady who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2011 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Donavon Burton , & Rev. Gilbert Robinson officiating, burial will follow in the Mill Springs National Cemetery with Rev. Murrell Crockett and Mr. Chris Burton officiating. The family of Mrs. Mary R. Burton will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home after 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2011. In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Missions with a Purpose - for Bible purchase, C/O Rev.
