Laura Tucker

Mrs. Laura (Taylor) Tucker, daughter of the late Delbert and Carrie (Hammond) Taylor was born on September 3, 1934 in Wayne County, Kentucky and departed this life on Monday, July 18, 2011 at her residence in the presence of her family having attained the age of 76. Mrs. Tucker is survived by two sons: Douglas Eugene (and Laurie) Tucker of Stamping Ground, Kentucky and David Lee (and Kimberly) Tucker of Frankfort, Kentucky; two brothers: Harold (and Brenda) Taylor of Somerset, Kentucky and Leonard (and Arlene) Taylor of Burnside, Kentucky; three sisters: Anna McKee, Della (and Noel) Dodson and Jeanie (and Billy) Taylor all of Somerset, Kentucky. Mrs. Tucker also leaves behind six grandchildren: Kyle Douglas (and Jenna) Tucker, Erin Wilcoxen, Jesse Scott Tucker, Hannah Jo Tucker, Kara Christine Tucker and John David Tucker, along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and church family who mourn her passing and celebrate her homecoming. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Lee Tucker; three brothers: Royce Taylor, Fred Taylor and Forest Taylor; three sisters: Wanda Dykes, Ruby Taylor and Mildred Taylor. Mrs. Tucker was a devoted and loving Christian woman and a member of Old Fashion Faith Missionary Baptist Church, a member of the Order of Eastern Star Laurel Heights Chapter 288 and a retired employee of Oakwood. Mrs. Tucker's funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Brother Alan Dodson and Brother Jacob Tucker officiating. Her burial will follow in the Burnside Cemetery. Mrs. Tucker's family will receive friends after 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at the Pulaski Funeral Home. An Eastern Star Service will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Tucker's family requests that expressions of sympathy be presented in the form of contributions to Hospice of Lake Cumberland or the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of all arrangements for Mrs. Tucker.
