Mrs. Imogene Erp Slavey, daughter of the late Robert E. and Oma Ann Bradley Erp, was born in Drum, KY on November 20, 1916 and she departed this life on Sunday, June 10, 2007 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
She was united in marriage to Mr. Gilmer Slavey, he preceded her in death. Survivors include; one son, Dewey (and Doris) Slavey of Somerset, KY; two daughters, Lois Hardin of Somerset, KY and Mary Ann (and John) Combs of Somerset, KY; a special nephew, Richmond (and Maxine) Slavey of Faubush, KY; one sister, Mildred Toby of Somerset, KY; one brother, Vernon (and Becky) Earp of Ft. Wayne, IN; eight grandchildren, Melissa Rogers, Sigmond Baker, Mark Baker, Bruce Baker, Rusty Hilton, Andy Hilton, Myra Albright and Jon Slavey; 13 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren.
Other than her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by; four brothers, William Oscar Erp, Robert Erp, Leonard "Lacy" Erp, Edward "Arb" Erp; and two sisters, Jessie B. Newberry and Jennie V. Cundiff.
Imogene was retired from the Palm Beach Company in Somerset, KY and she was a member of the Piney Grove Baptist Church #1, where she joined and was saved at a very early age, and she has devoted her entire life to the Lord ever since. She had also served as a Sunday School Teacher at Piney Grove for many many years. Imogene was a kind lady and was known to both family members and a large number of friends as "Granny". She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and she leaves behind both family and friends who both mourn her passing and yet, celebrate her homecoming.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at the Piney Grove Baptist Church #1 with Bro. Doug Eggers officiating. Burial will follow in the Piney Grove #1 Baptist Church Cemetery following the services.
The family of Imogene Slavey will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2007 and visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until after services Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at the Piney Grove Baptist Church #1.
