Mr. James L. Godby

Mr. James L. Godby, the son of Helen Russell Godby and the late Herbert Ed Godby, was born in Somerset, KY on November 29, 1959 and he departed this life on Monday July 4, 2011 in London, KY having attained the age of 51 years. He was united in marriage to Mrs. Julie Meece Godby in Somerset, KY on December 10, 1994, she survives. Other survivors include; two daughters, Deanna Wilson of Somerset, KY, and April Hoppes also of Somerset, KY, a step-son, Rodney Stevens of Louisville, KY; one brother, Paul (and Kathe) Godby of Science Hill, KY; two grandchildren, Chloe and Abigail Hopps, and his father and mother-in-law; James Robert and Iva Lee Gholson Meece. James was a truck driver and a member of the Sinking Valley Baptist Church. He was a kind person who will be greatly missed by all who knew him, and he leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn his passing. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2011 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Smith and Rev. Gilbert Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Beech Grove Cemetery. The family of Mr. James L. Godby will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2011.
