Mr. Leo Brinson, son of the late Willie and Nannie Meece Brinson, was born in the Drum Community of Pulaski County, KY on September 5, 1929 and he departed this life on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 having attained the age of 81 years. He was united in marriage to “Cookie” Cook Brinson in December of 1955, she survives. Other survivors include; one son, Gerald Lee (and Pam Vaught) Brinson of the nelson Valley Community; two grandchildren, Jonathan Brinson and Hillary Brinson; five brothers, Arnold (and Birdena) Brinson and Bill (and Violet) Brinson all of Ohio, Garland (Joyce) Brinson, Starland (Doris) Brinson and Pete (and Joann) Brinson all of KY; two sisters, Janet (and Jack) Woodall and Margaret Hall of KY, and a host of other relatives and friends who mourn his passing.
Other than his parents, he was also preceded in death by; two brothers, Ernie and Todd Brinson and one sister, Jennie Brinson who died in infancy.
Leo was a kind person, he was a member and trustee of the Rock Lick Baptist Church, and member of the Scenic Beagle Club and the Lake Cumberland Riding Club. He was retired from Cumberland Wood and Chair and he also was a farmer. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2011 at the Rock Lick Baptist Church with Bro. David Evans and Bro. Chuck Pollard officiating. Burial will follow in the Rock Lick Cemetery.
The family of Mr. Leo Brinson will receive friends at the Rock Lick Baptist Church, on Grundy Road, in Somerset, KY from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening, June 2, 2011. In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Rock Lick Baptist Church.
