Ruby Maxine New

Ruby Maxine New, 84, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She was born in Somerset, Kentucky on April 12, 1927, daughter of the late John Porter and LaSada Voiles Kennedy. She loved going to church, reading her bible and Gospel music. She worked as an operator for the telephone company and a seamstress at the Goodall. She is survived by daughters, Carol & (Kerrie) Spaw of Kings Mt., KY and Maxine Bolin of Somerset, sister, Dorothy Dodson of Centre, AL, grandson, Jason Hughes, great-granddaughter, Nora Bolin, several special nieces and nephews, best friend, Jody Whitaker, her wonderful pastor, Brother Broughton and Barbara and her Saline church family, where she was an active member. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Willard New, her parents, grandson, Christopher Robin Bolin and special grandson Ricky Bussell. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Willie Kennedy and Theodore Kennedy and sisters, Sabra Fitzgerald, Stella Baugh VanHoose, Patricia Kennedy and Maybelle Kennedy. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Monday, May 23, 2011 at Saline Baptist Church. Burial will be in Burnside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 PM to 8 PM Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Pulaski Funeral Home and after 10 AM Monday, May 23, 2011 at Saline Baptist Church.
